We have been employing the sinus models from Fusetec at the North American Masterclass in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery since 2019, and immediately we recognized the tremendous educational advantage of these models over traditional cadaver specimens. The are available with varying complexity of frontal sinus anatomy, they come with imaging and can be navigated, they have a realistic feel for dissection and drilling, they can be used anywhere without biohazards concerns and are competitively priced compared to cadavers. The more recent iterations are completely mind blowing in their realism and feel, and ability to perform septoplasty, DCR, SPA ligation, and can even come with pathologies such as nasal polyps or inverted papillomas! This is the future of surgical education training!!

I have been using the Fusetec Models at a Spine Trainee Course over the past two years and have been extremely impressed with the quality of the models to simulate the surgical procedures we are teaching. Fusetec has also been very responsive to feedback for ongoing development and innovation in order to develop models that can simulate actual patient pathology. The annual course I run is gradually moving away from using cadaveric specimens to the Fusetec Models due to all of the benefits that this technology can provide.

I strongly believe that Fusetec’s technology to develop advanced surgical training will change the way surgeons train in the future and as such the company has the potential to play a pivotal role in the education of the next generation of the UK surgical workforce. I am glad to recommend Fusetec in the highest terms.
